In April, Diesel had announced that Larson would be joining the Fast X cast and welcomed her to the family in an endearing social media post. He teased, at the time, that she would play a character that Fast and Furious fans may “not have expected but yearned for.” Details of her role have not been confirmed since, but it seems like she would be one of the good guys and a part of Dominic Toretto’s team. The latest image further teases the fact that she would be playing an integral role in the upcoming tenth installment.

The image in question features Diesel and Larson, and what could potentially be the first look at the latter’s Fast X character. The caption reads, “There are some people you will meet in life… That will change you, change your family… change the world, FOREVER!” The image and words have started a whole new fan theory that Larson could potentially be playing a character that could be linked to a former member of the franchise. Fans believe that she could potentially be the sister of Paul Walker’s Brian O’Connor.
Walker tragically died in a car accident during the filming of Furious 7, and the film was completed with the help of his brothers and CGI. He received the perfect send-off in the franchise, with the final scene of the seventh installment showing him driving off into the sunset and reuniting with his family, with “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth playing in the background. O’Connor might be gone, but fans are convinced that Larson is his long-lost sister who has returned to join Dom’s crew in Fast X. Only time will tell how true this fan theory is.
Apart from Larson, Jason Momoa has also come on board as the villain in Fast X and Alan Ritchson is the latest one to join the roster in an unannounced role. However, while filming continues, the much-awaited Fast X has already suffered its share of problems, with long-time director Justin Lin stepping away from the project. Unconfirmed reports suggest that Lin left the franchise due to issues with Diesel on set. This isn’t the first time that someone has left the franchise, as actor Dwayne Jonhson has vowed to never return to the Fast and Furious franchise over differences with Diesel.
Fast X is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 19, 2023.
